If your application is rejected, or if you are put on a waiting list due to limited number of places available, you have the right to ask for grounds of rejection and appeal the decision.
IMPORTANT: It is your responsibility as an applicant to provide all required documents within the deadline. Unless you have received an email from us stating a specific deadline, the deadline to submit any kind of documents is the same as the application deadline for the program. If you fail to provide all required documents within the given deadline, your application will be rejected. Please make sure to check your registered email for any important messages from us after the application deadline. This includes the spam filter in your email account. If the reason for rejecting your application is that you have not provided all required documents within the given deadline, your appeal will be disregarded.
According to the Norwegian Public Administration Act, § 24, you have the right to ask for grounds for the decision. The time limit is three weeks from the day you receive the email with the decision.
If you ask for grounds of rejection or appeal, we will review your application again, to see if there might have been an error when processing your application. If an error has been made, you will receive a new letter with results of your application. If the results of your application are correct, the first rejection is valid.
According to the Norwegian Public Administration Act, § 28, you have the right to appeal the decision. The time limit is three weeks from the day you receive the email with the decision. In case of appeal please specify your reasons for appealing the decision.
NOTE: We will always treat your first response as a question of grounds for the decision. If you receive grounds for the decision, there will be a new deadline to appeal the decision, three weeks from the date you receive the grounds. This is according to the Norwegian Public Administration Act § 29.
An appeal should sent to the admissions office by email. The appeal must be signed by you or your proxy. If your proxy is not an attorney, you must attach a written power of attorney. In your appeal you should give grounds for your appeal in accordance with the Norwegian Public Administration Act § 32.
