Master's Degree Seminar

This course is reserved for students enrolled in the Master's degree programme in Biology and Medical biolgy.
This is a special course for students taking the Master of Science programme in Biology/Medical biology at the Institute of Medical Biology. On the basis of a given topic the student will undertake a literature search to find out what has been written on the matter in international journals. The subject material should then be presented by the student as a seminar with an examiner present. The prestentation should last for 45 minutes (40 minutes with lecture and 5 minutes for questions).
The student will have four weeks at his/her disposal from the day of reception of the topic till delivery of the seminar. The topic will have a bearing on the contents of his postgraduate thesis. The target group for the presentation is master degree students in Biology/Medical biology.
Training for the student in communicating scientific material in the form of a lecture. Another objective is that the student should learn to handle tools to search for publicised literature for the purpose of learning.

Oral presentation before an audience; the seminar will be announced at the faculty a week before it is held. Grade type: pass / fail
