Course contents
The course deals with ecological interactions with special emphasize on aquatic systems and freshwater fish. Predation, competition and parasitism are central topics, and essential principles and theories in relation to these interactions will be explained. The dynamic aspects of the interactions are focused, also considering effects of heavy exploitation, species introductions and other kind of biomanipulations. Lessons include a combination of lectures presenting basic theory, and seminars for discussions of relevant publications. The seminars are compulsory and based on thorough preparations from the students.
Objective of the course
To give the students 1) indept knowledge, insight and understanding in ecology with special emphasis on community ecology and ecological interactions, 2) experience in reading scientific papers, og 3) experience in discussions and oral and written presentations of scientific topics.
