About the course
This course provides the student with an introduction to the use of structural equation models (SEM) and the methodological issues pertaining to such models.
Admission requirements
BED3011 or equivalent
Max 15 participants
Objectives of the course
Knowledge:
- An understanding of the uses and limitations of SEM as a measurement analysis tool.
- An understanding of the measurement model and the structural model, as well as the type of information each one provides.
- An understanding of advanced issues in SEM, including higher order factors, multi-group analyses, and MTMM.
Skills:
- Conceptualizing SEM
- Executing SEM using Lisel/Amos
- Presentation of SEM
- Intepretation of SEM
Competencies:
- The ability to interpret and evaluate the use of SEM in business literature

Assessment: Term paper
Grade: Pass/fail
Course work requirements:
(1) Analyses or reproducing runs using LISREL, incl.1-2 page report of results from the exercises.
(2) Each student will complete a term project consisting of specification, estimation, testing, and interpretation of an original structural equation model using primary data.
