BIO-1001 Cell and molecular biology
The course covers the principles of physiology for each of the principle organ systems, with an emphasis on regulatory mechanisms in an integrated organism. Physiology of the nervous and muscular systems, sensory physiology, circulation, respiration, excretion, endocrinology, digestion and nourishment will all be dealt with. The species on which examples are based will be the human. The course will include an extensive lab course which by means of practical exercises will illustrate central topics of the syllabus.
To give the student fundamental understanding of how various organ systems operate in an integrated organism.
Norwegian or English
Lectures, student colloquia and (compulsory) lab work.
Multiple choice tests and a written exam (6 hrs.). Alphabetical grades (A-F)
