Course contents
The course describes physiological mechanisms in fish. Topics covered include nerves and sense organs, endocrinology, circulation, respiration, iono- and osmoregulation, digestive system, reproduction, parr-smolt transformation and stress in fish.

Objective of the course
The course will give students an overview of physiological mechanisms and principles in fish. The importance of how environmental factors (such as temperature, photoperiod, water quality etc.) affect the biology of fish, is emphasized.
