Aquaculture I

Theoretical subject.
The course is an introduction to culture of aquatic organisms. Emphasis is put on species that are common to the Norwegian aquaculture industry, but aquaculture in temperate and tropical areas will also be covered. The lectures focus mainly on production of juveniles, breeding/genetics, feed and nutrition, and fish health.
The course will give students an introduction to the culture of aquatic organisms, based on biological and technological prerequisites for individual species.

Lectures and excursion
Four hour written exam.
01.12.2008 - Examination date is preliminary and may be subject to change. The definitive examination date will be announced on notice boards at the faculties at the beginning of the month of May for the spring semester and the beginning of the month of November for the autumn semester.
