Course contents
The course will cover life history theory especially related to the management of natural populations. It will be emphasised to illustrate the relationship between reproductive effort and the reproductive value in different species. For instance how should a long-lived species adjust their reproductive effort compared to a short-lived species with a low residual reproductive value. Sex ratio theory using a life history approach will also be an important part of the course. Should a female reindeer in good body condition produce male or female offspring. The theory will be illustrated using examples both from humans and other animals. Oral exam. Letter grades, A-F.
