The course provides an introduction to the micro-structure of the cells, tissue and organs of humans and other mammals. The teaching builds on basic knowledge of physiology and anatomy.

Objective of the course
An overall goal of the histology course is that the students learn to identify various kinds of cells, tissues, and organs on the basis of characteristic features observed through an optical microscope.

20 hrs of lectures and 41 lab exercises (microscope work). The lab records, including sketches of cells, tissue and organs, as viewed in a microscope, need to be approved prior to final exam.
