Course contents
The lectures provide broad overviews of basic physiological mechanisms and adaptations in aquatic organisms. Topics covered by the lectures include physiological signals and endocrinology, respiration and circulation, ion- and osmoregulation, reproduction, biological rhythms, temperature adaptation, ecotoxicology and functional genomics. Lectures form the basis for independent student lectures within selected topics that will be evaluated as part of an oral examination. Required: BIO-2504 and BIO-2505, or BIO-2506.
Objective of the course
To gain knowledge within fish physiology, and receive training in how to give a scientific presentation.

Assessment methods
Lecture on chosen theme, followed by oral examination. Written examination.
